“O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.” Psalm 139: 1 – 4 ESV
The Holy Spirit knows everything. He knows every detail of our lives and every detail of the whole universe. The Spirit actually knows and understands your pain. How very often do we desire to have someone who understands us and what we are going through? We have that in the Holy Spirit. We have a friend who is closer than our breath, who sees every tear and puts it in a bottle. He has infinite knowledge.
This should give us much security and power, especially when we know He loves us, desires us, and has our best interests at heart. So even when we are going through difficult times and situations, knowing that ‘all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.’ Trusting God means putting our lives in His hands. Sometimes, this feels like jumping off of a high-rise building and not knowing if the power shot will release. His power shoot will release, and we can trust that no matter what it looks like, He is very much in control as long as we give Him the steering wheel.
Lord I pray that you give us the Grace to trust you and to depend totally on you knowing that you are faithful, and you are a good good father who has the best intentions for us.
