“Those who walked in darkness have seen a radiant light shining upon them. They once lived in the shadows of death, but now a glorious light has dawned!” Isaiah 9:2 TPT
A child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. The responsibility of complete dominion will rest on his shoulders, and his name will be: The Wonderful One! The Extraordinary Strategist! The Mighty God! The Father of Eternity! The Prince of Peace! Isaiah 9:6-7 TPT
During the proceeding weeks to Christmas, we often see a busyness and rush as people run 🏃🏽♀ around to prepare for that season in the year when family and friends get together. Nevertheless, this is not the same for all. For some, this time magnifies the feelings of lack, loneliness and isolation. The intense feeling of missing out on something special sits heavy with many.
For everyone, regardless of their situation or position, there is hope and hope in a Saviour who knows us by name and knows our every need. In Isaiah 9:2, The prophecy of Jesus Christ, we see the radiant light that would shine upon us. The light of Christ shines on us, whether rich or poor, tall or short; Jesus came so that all may have life and have it more abundantly. “A child has been born for us.” Jesus was born for us. Let’s think about that for a moment in whatever situation you find yourself in; Jesus is God’s gift to you.
A gift that holds the promise of hope and redemption. A hope that extinguishes the sting of death and gives us a promise of eternal life.
A gift that brings peace in every storm and stills our anxious hearts.
A gift that brings friendship and communion that fills and satisfies our souls.
A gift that has the complete strength of heaven and earth and the ability to fight every battle one encounters.
Heavenly thank you for bringing your everlasting light into our lives. Thank you for the numerous gifts you give us as we dwell in your presence. Lord, we are forever grateful. Lord give us an increased capacity to love those in need around us so that your light can shine through us into the world in Jesus name.
Much Love in Christ,
Your Sister,
Ruth
